AQUABEST SET TO UTILIZE NANOTECHNOLOGY

Aquabest the country’s premier water refilling franchise is set to break new ground as it become the country’s first refilling station franchise to utilize nanotechnology in its filtration process.

The company recently secured a Korean developed water filtration system to ensure a high level of purity while at the same time providing additional health benefits. The filters utilize carbon nanotubes with diameters of a few nanometers – one nanometer is one millionth of a millimeter. Carbon nanotubes consist of cylindrical molecules of carbon and can be used to clean polluted water. Due to their extremely high surface areas carbon nanotubes can be used to collect many contaminants that can hardly be separated from water by activated carbon.

A secondary benefit of this technology is that it helps neutralize the inherent acidity of pure water. Acidic water is seen by some to be a contributing factor to certain diseases and ailments. The carbon nanotubes have been observed to help neutralize the ph level of the water and give it a neutral ph level while retaining the purity of the water.

Aquabest intends to roll out the new technology to its store network of nearly 700 stores nationwide this year.

AQUABEST RUNS FOR A CAUSE

AQUABEST RUNS FOR A CAUSE

Aquabest the country’s premier water refilling franchise made a difference in the lives of Caloocan school children as it supported the Toyota Balintawak-North Edsa Fun Run.

The company was the event’s official hydration partner giving away free Aquabest water to participating runners. At the same time some of the company’s employees also participated in this cause oriented run. Supporting events such as the run is part of the company’s advocacy for corporate social responsibility particularly in ensuring adequate access to basic necessities such as education.

The run organized by Toyota Balintawak-North Edsa aims to gather runners for the benefit of the Philippine Red Cross and public schools in Caloocan City. The run was held at the UP Diliman Palma Hall parking lot.
