Aquabest the country’s premier water franchise is proud to launch a new advocacy ambassador to promote recycling and Philippine art.
The company unveiled the “Aquabot” at the recent Philippine Art Fiesta at the Luneta Park. “Aquabot” is a ten foot tall public art installation designed and created by the UP Artists Circle’s Clarence Alvear and Mark Cosico. Made with the company’s used water containers and other recyclable materials, Aquabot is intended to serve as an ambassador to the general public to help promote recycling. It is also intended to serve as a platform to promote the works of promising young Filipino artists.
During its successful public debut at Luneta, Aquabot attracted sizable crowds of festival goers and park visitors who took pictures with the robot. “It was the enthusiastic public reception to the Aquabot that convinced us to utilize it as a new medium to help raise awareness on recycling as well as Philippine art by tapping promising artists to create and display artistic works in venues that are readily accessible to the general public” says Paul Tan Aquabest’s Brand and Marketing Manager.
To further raise awareness on its advocacies the company is mulling taking Aquabot on a Metro Manila wide road tour. At the same time, the company is also preparing an information campaign to highlight the importance of recycling through further collaborations with other artists. With these initiatives the company hopes that public would not only be educated on proper environmental stewardship but would also gain a greater appreciation of Philippine art.
