AQUAQUEST OBSERVES WORLD EARTH DAY

Aquaquest and its mother company GQWEST Inc would like to join the world in observing and practicing the ideals of World Earth Day (WED).

Earth Day began as an advocacy to inspire awareness and appreciation for the environment. This year’s theme for Earth Day is Earth Day 2013: This year’s Earth Day aims to give a human face to the challenges and realities of climate change. In support the company is proud to announce its efforts to help make its operations green and reduce its carbon footprint.

In recent years, the company has moved towards becoming a paperless office through increased digitization and automation. It has also practiced energy efficiency by switching to LED lights and solar powered air-conditioning units. Its Aquaquest water stores have also sought to maximize water usage by integrating a Laundromat with the water store thus utilizing the 60 percent of a stations water input normally discarded as part of the water filtration process. They also use environmentally friendly detergents eliminating any pollutants as well as technology to use less detergent.

The company also has a longstanding partnership with the Haribon Foundation’s with its tree planting efforts. The company employs local residents in the tree-planting site to take care of the trees planted. This provides locals with livelihood while at the same time increasing the survival rates of the plants.
